AI Marketing TOols: Comparing Jasper to ChatGPT. Can AI Get you a Date?
It’s nearly impossible to discuss content generation for any task, industry, or school project, without AI, namely ChatGPT, coming up in conversation.
Generating content, not to mention quality content, doesn’t come easy for many of us. It is a skill to develop and despite the hopes of our high school and college professors, it’s one most of us typically ignore post-graduation.
Another seemingly elusive skill (for some) is how to get a (quality) date. Can the wonders of modern technology and the writing aid of AI help?
With a bit of cheekiness and choosing a lighthearted approach to online dating, we'll explore the output quality of two different AI platforms compared to each other.
Curious about the time-saving nature of AI, our team enlisted the help of Jasper.ai (formerly Jarvis) over the past several months to assist in writing blogs, ad captions, and other marketing copy. For the sake of comparison, we will be using both ChatGPT and Jasper.ai to address the question: Can AI get you a date?

First, let’s discuss the players. Below is not only our human comparison of the two platforms, but what each robot has to say about itself and its competition. Because why not?
Jasper is a writing assistant primarily geared to generate marketing content. The platform offers templates for writing everything from GMB posts to Amazon product descriptions, SEO-optimized web content to review responses. Beyond templates, you can engage with Jasper through simple ‘Chats’, a freeform ‘Document’, or more structured ‘Recipes’. Each of these methods are integrated where you can flip back and forth between tools so it will produce the content that you want.
Like any good AI, Jasper ‘learns’ from what you tell it. You, the infinitely more intricate human mind, steer the conversation and Jasper adapts and fetches information from the vaults of data it’s been programmed to know. You can import content and craft your unique “Brand Voice” so Jasper will remember the style and tone your company uses to talk to your customers. Or you can craft a Brand Voice to sound like your company spokesperson…. or perhaps your alter-ego.
Various assets can be created all from one brief, making complex campaigns from just a few clicks.
Remember it is a machine and you must guide it with your prompts and direction to produce the best content and results.
ChatGPT is a free-form platform styled for conversation with the user. It can gather and compose data across virtually any industry and topic pre-2022. You can train it to “think” in different ways, even more human-like, if you teach it how to do that and what you’re looking for. The more you explain what is wrong with the content being generated, the more it will adjust to what you want.
Remember, it too is a machine, so it can occasionally get stuck in a loop of giving bad data and content. In such a case, wipe the slate clean and start over.
Next we fed each robot the same prompt. Admittedly it was fun to ask AI to talk about itself. Way more fun, to be honest, than having someone ask me to write about myself.
PROMPT: Expound upon the differences of jasper.ai and chatgpt including ease of use, accuracy, and quality of content.
ChatGPT: Jasper.ai and ChatGPT are both language models designed for natural language processing, but they differ in their architecture and capabilities. In terms of ease of use, both models offer simple APIs that allow developers to integrate them into their applications without extensive technical expertise.
However, when it comes to accuracy and quality of content, there are some notable differences between the two models. Jasper.ai is a specialized language model designed for business use cases, such as answering customer service inquiries or generating personalized recommendations. It is trained on a specific domain of data and can quickly generate responses to common queries related to that domain. The quality of content generated by Jasper.ai is generally high, but its accuracy may be limited outside of its designated domain.
ChatGPT, on the other hand, is a more general-purpose language model that has been trained on a vast amount of data across many different domains. As a result, it can generate high-quality responses to a wide range of questions and topics. However, its breadth of knowledge can sometimes lead to less accurate responses in certain specialized domains.
Overall, both Jasper.ai and ChatGPT offer their own unique advantages and disadvantages, depending on the specific use case. If you are looking for a specialized language model that can quickly answer common queries related to a specific domain, Jasper.ai may be the better choice. However, if you need a more general-purpose language model that can generate high-quality responses across a wide range of topics, ChatGPT may be a better fit.
Jasper: Jasper.ai and ChatGPT are two powerful AI technologies that enable users to create natural-sounding conversations with ease. However, they differ in terms of accuracy, quality of content generated, as well as the level of user experience each platform provides.
Jasper.ai is an AI-powered chatbot that allows users to create automated conversations quickly and simply, with minimal effort on their part. It enables customers to have natural-sounding conversations without the need for programming knowledge or technical expertise. The platform uses deep learning algorithms to generate accurate responses to user questions, and its natural language processing capabilities allow it to respond naturally and accurately. Furthermore, Jasper.ai provides users with a smooth user experience through its intuitive conversation builder and dashboard.
"Jasper writes mind-bendingly good marketing content and copy so you never have to stare at a blank page again." - jasper.ai
ChatGPT is another powerful AI technology used for creating conversational experiences in real-time. It works by predicting what a customer might say next based on past conversations and the context of the current one, allowing for more human-like interactions. Additionally, it is able to generate content on its own based on input from the user for more natural conversations. ChatGPT also provides a better user experience as it allows users to customize their chatbot with a range of adjustable settings such as language and personality to create unique experiences tailored to their customers' needs.
Overall, both Jasper.ai and ChatGPT provide powerful AI technologies for creating natural-sounding conversations and providing great customer service experiences. However, when choosing between the two platforms, it is important to consider each platform's strengths and weaknesses in order to determine which one best suits your specific needs. By doing so, you can ensure that the conversation created is accurate and engaging for your customers while also ensuring a seamless user experience.
Although Jasper included “natural” or “natural-sounding” in every paragraph of its response at least once, the ChatGPT response reads much less robotic. This tracks with what we’ve found in using Jasper for many cases: it tends to be repetitive and less creative in word choice.
Both do mention the strengths of each platform as well as mentioning the limitations that humans may encounter when utilizing AI.

Back to our experiment.
Now that we know what each AI thinks about itself and the other, we have an idea of which may have better advice in our search for a meaningful relationship. I’m leaning toward “Team ChatGPT” over here, if I’m being honest.
Venturing into the world of online dating is a leap of faith and involves a plethora of decisions. Once you determine which app to use - one quick search says it’s estimated there are over 8,000 dating sites worldwide! - you then have to set up your profile. How do you decide what interesting factoids you’ll share about yourself with complete strangers?
PROMPT 2: What components make up an attractive and effective dating profile?
ChatGPT: An attractive and effective dating profile should contain the following components:
Clear and Eye-Catching Photos: Include high-quality, clear, and recent photos that showcase your personality and interests. Avoid blurry or heavily filtered photos.
An Engaging Bio: Write a compelling and concise bio that highlights your personality, interests, and what you're looking for in a partner. Keep it positive, humorous, and authentic.
Specific Details: Be specific about your interests and hobbies, including your favorite books, movies, music, and activities. This helps potential matches find common ground and start a conversation.
Honesty and Authenticity: Be honest about who you are and what you're looking for in a relationship. Avoid exaggerating or misrepresenting yourself, as this can lead to disappointment and distrust.
Positive Tone: Keep your tone positive and upbeat. Avoid negativity or complaining, as this can turn off potential matches.
Good Grammar and Spelling: Take the time to proofread your profile for any spelling or grammar errors. This shows that you are serious about finding a potential partner and care about making a good impression.
Overall, an attractive and effective dating profile should accurately represent who you are and what you're looking for in a relationship. Be honest, positive, and engaging, and you'll increase your chances of finding a compatible match.
Jasper: (line breaks added for readability because none were given)
First, it should have a clear and concise headline that conveys your personality, interests, and the type of relationship you’re looking for.
Second, it should have an engaging photo that shows off your best features.
Third, it should have an introductory section with an overview of who you are and what makes you unique.
Fourth, it should include several short paragraphs highlighting your positive qualities such as your sense of humor and intelligence.
Fifth, it should feature specific details about interests and hobbies that will draw others to you.
Finally, the profile should include a call-to-action to motivate potential matches to reach out to you.
By combining these components into a well-crafted dating profile, you can create an attractive and effective dating profile that increases your chances of finding someone special.
Honestly, I find ChatGPT’s output spot-on and well-written. All sound advice in my view and all tips that I would recommend to others building a dating profile.
As a business-focused platform, perhaps Jasper gets a slight pass, but depending on the app in use, some of its recommendations are completely irrelevant (e.g. the headline, a full intro section, and several short paragraphs). For any readers not familiar with online dating apps, the text allowance is limited and should be kept short and to the point. Additionally, the advice to include a call-to-action sounds very sales-y, but if you’re trying to get a date, it’s not a bad tip. All of this sounds more like job-hunting advice, but I suppose it can feel that way sometimes.
PROMPT 3: Following the advice given, write an engaging dating profile for a 35 year old male named Trevor who enjoys outdoor activities, quality espresso, and his 3 year old golden retriever named Theo
ChatGPT: Hi there! My name is Trevor, and I'm a 35-year-old guy who loves spending time outdoors, sipping quality espresso, and playing with my furry best friend, Theo. I'm a bit of an adventurer at heart, and you can often find me hiking, camping, or hitting the slopes in the winter. But don't worry, I also enjoy a cozy night in with a good book or movie.
When I'm not exploring the great outdoors, I love discovering new coffee shops and trying out different espresso blends. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect cup of coffee, so if you have any recommendations, I'm all ears!
Speaking of recommendations, I'm also looking for someone to share my love of life with. I'm hoping to find someone who shares my passion for adventure and enjoys spending time outdoors. Bonus points if you're a fellow dog lover and don't mind hanging out with Theo, who is a playful and friendly 3-year-old golden retriever.
If you're looking for a fun-loving, spontaneous guy who knows how to appreciate the little things in life, let's grab a cup of coffee and see where things go!
Jasper: I'm Trevor, a 35 year old man who loves the outdoors, quality espresso, and my 3 year old golden retriever named Theo. I'm an adventurous spirit who's determined to make the most of every day and loves to explore new places and try new things.
I'm active, energetic, and always up for a challenge. I enjoy going on hikes or kayaking with Theo, trying out new restaurants with friends, or just getting lost in a good book. I'm equally comfortable relaxing at home with a cup of espresso while listening to music or enjoying some Netflix.
I'm naturally curious about life and people around me and am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge base. I value kindness and compassion above all else - whether that's treating others with respect or taking care of the environment.
In my free time, I often volunteer in local animal shelters in order to give back to my community as well as spend time with animals like Theo! On weekends I typically enjoy camping trips with friends or adventures around town trying out hidden gems like independent coffee shops or unique eateries.
If you're looking for someone who is passionate about life and ready for adventure, then message me! Let's chat over coffee (or espresso!) and see where it takes us…
We’ll put aside that dating profiles on most apps are a quarter of this length. If we wanted to nail it down, we could explain to Jasper and ChatGPT the length of content we needed along with additional preferences and parameters. From this initial, one shot generation: Which platform do you think is giving Trevor a fighting chance?
Again, even untrained, ChatGPT comes across more natural (I guess Jasper was right to overuse that description), and Jasper’s writing structure is unvaried (three paragraphs starting with “I’m”) making our main man seem less skilled. Poor Trevor.
Both did well in pulling in information that was outside of the prompt adding depth of character and creating a more well-rounded persona. Well done there.
Final Thoughts
So… right or left? Which AI tool would you consult for your next bio, dating profile, or work project? Or would you prefer to stick to “old-fashioned” human creative writing?
AI is a fast-advancing technology getting “smarter” everyday with greater capacity to adjust and respond to the input given. But it’s important to remember that. AI is the machine that responds to an input. Humans give that input and steer the purpose of any project. Recognize it for the great tool it is in facilitating work and research, and you'll be well on your way to greater work (and dating?) efficiency.
Would you use AI to help you get a Date?
One final burning question remains, would you enlist AI to help you get a date? Or have you?? If you do, will you send us a story of how it goes? :)
Happy writing/dating!
